DESCRIPTION:The Winter Authors’ Conference focuses on editing. For 2024\, we’re going to dive more deeply into the mysterious art of self-editing. This conference blends two talks (one in the morning\, one in the afternoon) with plenty of time for individual work and peer problem-solving. Morning coffee and lunch is provided. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAttendees are encouraged to bring a computer and an electronic version of their novel project\, to make the best use of workshopping time\, although neither is required. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe morning talk focuses on multiple self-edit passes on a novel manuscript. The afternoon talk focuses on incorporating external feedback into a manuscript. The workshop activity chunks a novel into a synopsis to assess pacing and 3- or 5-act structural conformance. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nRegistration is mandatory on Eventbrite.
